An SDI overlay based Character Generators are the best, live editing, broadcast quality solution available today. However, they are often beyond the budget of many users. Datavideo's CG-100 changes that! Whether you are adding text to live video or using already prepared screens (like Digital Juice or 12 Inch Design), the Datavideo CG-100 is ideal for live editing in Television stations, Churches, Schools or Corporate facilities. The Datavideo CG-100 combined with any Blackmagic Design "Decklink Card" and used in a PC, is a broadcast quality, SDI Character Generator at an affordable price. In addition you need a "Decklink Card" and a PC. The Datavideo CG-100 supports NTSC and PAL video standards and works in either a 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio. CG-100 Features include: * Pages can be composed and combined with animation effects, to run as a sequence, or displayed and edited live. * Image objects may be imported as graphics and stored as part of the page. * Simple shapes (bars, ellipses and rectangles) are menu items and may be added to the page. * Animation objects can Wipe, Push and Fade in various directions at different speeds. * Text can roll and crawl. * Redo/Undo functions for quick testing of an additional effect. * Live editing mode provides a great lexibility to immediately edit other CG pages offline while another CG page is online. * Quick CG Text Editor allows navigation from page to page to modify text in a very productive way. * Stand-alone logo display function. * Group function makes CG combinations easy to be edited. * Supports Windows Unicode for multi-language inputs * SDI & YUV available Operation: With this CG software you compose pages before they are used. For example, "lower thirds" or titles. And you can compose files “off line”. The CG-100 can hold many pages, limited only by the computer's processor speed and RAM speed and size. If you have 150-200 pages you will need a faster computer with more storage than if you have 50 pages. Text positioning may be done by mouse/eye or by X/Y pixel designation. Package includes: P/N CG-100 Software and Cables - no card, P/N CG-100D Basic Card, Software and Cables CG for use with other switchers: The CG-100 will work with any video switcher that accepts the SDI video and key signal coming from the Decklink Card. Driver notes: The CG-100 software requires use of the drivers included with the software. FAQ Q: When I activate the software through the SE-800's "ext key" button I am seeing a green flash on the video output, is this normal? A: The reason the green flash occurs is because the DECKLINK card is in output mode by default and needs to be reset. To avoid the “green flash” activate the CG-100 program before activating the EXT. CHROMA KEY button. Q: I opened a targa sequence on my CG-100 but when I play my pages it does not show on my computer monitor, is this normal? A: Yes, the targa animations will not play within the CG-100 interface, but will be active on the SDI output. Q: How many crawl effects can be added to each page? A: One crawl effect is available for each page. Q: Can a crawl effect be placed over a targa sequence? A: Yes, a targa sequence can be placed behind or in front of a crawl effect. Q: I already have a Decklink Card, should I used the drivers provided with the card? A: We recommend using the drivers that are supplied with your CG-100 installation CD, since the CG-100 needs specific drivers for each Decklink card type. Please refer to the CG-100 installation instructions for further information.
